✨ Meet Taryn ✨
We’re so excited to welcome Taryn to the team as one of our Wedding and Events Managers 🤍👋🏻

Currently planning her own 2028 wedding, Taryn has a real appreciation for the detail that goes into creating a beautiful and meaningful day. She understands that wedding planning can feel overwhelming at times, and believes it should be well-supported, enjoyable and full of special moments.

With a thoughtful eye for the little touches (right down to the final ribbon 🎀), Taryn is passionate about making sure every wedding feels personal, effortless and completely true to each couple. She loves weddings and everything that goes with them and will always make sure your day is just how you want it.

We’ve also already discovered just how much she loves a spreadsheet…and she is soo good at them 😌✨ (your timelines are in very safe hands).

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, trips to the theatre, and spending time with her fiancé and her two fur-babies, Willow and Maple 🐾

We’re so happy to have her on the team and we know all of you, our lovely couples current and future are going to love her 🤍

Ellie & Kyle’s Valentine’s return to the same spots from their wedding in 2023 🤍👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

This weekend we welcomed the lovely Ellie @ellsbells54 and Kyle @kyleburgess94 back to @strattoncourtbarn, after celebrating their wedding with us in August 2023. They stayed overnight with us on Valentine’s Day after winning our Granary Cottage stay giveaway last month and it was such a joy to have them back 🥰

It was their first time back since their wedding day, so we spent some time wandering around together, revisiting all the spaces and reliving the day - it felt a little bit like a homecoming, and a little bit like being back in wedding mode again! 💓

We chatted lots and they told us some of the things they loved about their wedding here:
* Having the bar in the barn and on the dancefloor - perfect for the relaxed celebration they wanted
* Seeing The Byre for the first time (it wasn’t built when they married!) - it made them want to have their wedding all over again…maybe a vow renewal one day? 🤍
* The amazing natural light in The Stables for hair and makeup
* The large, open spaces - especially beautiful in the summer
* A layout that feels both intimate and full, without ever feeling crowded
* Being able to open all the doors in summer and flow easily between indoor and outdoor spaces
* The courtyard setup, with the bar and DJ close by, creating great energy and allowing guests to move between spaces while still feeling part of the celebration
* The overall atmosphere - relaxed, joyful, and full of great vibes
Thank you Ellie and Kyle, it was so special to have you back and relive those memories with you 🤍

Choosing a wedding veil can feel surprisingly over

Choosing a wedding veil can feel surprisingly overwhelming 🤍
Before you fall down the Pinterest rabbit hole, here’s some advice…

• Try one on, even if you’re convinced you’re “not a veil person”. • Choose your veil after your dress so it complements, not competes. • Think about proportion because you want it to enhance your look, not overwhelm it. • And make sure it’s secured properly to avoid mid-ceremony mishaps 😅 (we’ve seen it happen, especially outside in wind!)
Because once you start looking, you’ll realise…there are so many options.

Different lengths (birdcage, fingertip, chapel, cathedral), different tiers (single tier, two tier, with a blusher), lace trims, raw edges and it can suddenly feel a lot 😵‍💫

And yet there’s something undeniably timeless about one. For centuries, veils symbolised modesty, mystery and new beginnings. Today? They’re less about rules and more about romance.

We’ve seen cathedral-length veils floating through the barn doors, delicate lace catching the chandelier light, modern brides wearing a simple single tier just for the aisle and others choosing no veil at all.
