Your Vegan Wedding
It’s with great excitement that we’re seeing our approved caterers embracing plant-powered food, from all-out vegan to deliciously vegetarian. No longer a trend, vegan and vegetarian food is part of our daily tapestry, and putting it on the wedding table is only a natural progression.
So many people are choosing plant-based food for a variety of reasons: the health benefits stemming from these nutrient-rich ingredients, the positive impact it has on the environment, and of course the protection of animals. While it may not be a trend to be vegan, celebrity endorsement has certainly helped put delicious, exciting and – not to be underestimated – beautiful vegan dishes on the culinary map.
Not willing to be outdone, our approved caterers have set to work to create beautiful vegan and vegetarian dishes, taking up as much room on their menus as their meat-based dishes. As expected, these dishes are vibrant with colour, ripe with taste and scent, and prepared to enhance the natural flavour of the most amazing quality ingredients.
So what are these dishes? Let’s start off with taking a look at The Wild Oven. These guys feel that too many events involve food that leaves you feeling disappointed, underwhelmed and unsatisfied. They aim to change that with their theatrical wood fired ovens, built into classic vehicles, offering a showcase along with seriously delicious food.
Their starters and mains are served on maple boards laden with your selection of menu items. Vegan starter options include:
Padron peppers and sea salt
Blistered green beans and corn with gochujang and sesame dip
Deconstructed cherry tomato, mint, basil and balsamic bruchetta
And if that doesn’t tempt you enough, have a look at a selection of their vegan mains:
Cracked pepper spelt with roasted sweet potato, mushroom, garlic and spinach
Spiced Moroccan vegetable and chickpea tagine
Stuffed butternut squash
Korean spiced sesame jackfruit
For dessert, I’m all about their vegan cherry and honeycomb chocolate block. Mmmm!
But it’s not just the Wild Oven chefs who have been creative of late. The top chefs at Lemon Zest have also been busy putting together an extensive vegan menu, with the following mouth-watering dishes on offer:

Who doesn’t love a rich, chocolatey, edging on gooey, Lemon Zest brownie?! Or maybe I’m just obsessed with chocolate!
Another caterer who knows exactly how to produce a perfect vegan brownie, is S&J Cuisine. Sticking to what they do best - heart-warming comfort food served with unbeatable cheer - they offer a fully vegan Mexican feast. We’re talking nachos with melted (vegan) cheese, salsa and guacamole to start; Fajitas with a wide variety of vegan fillings for mains, and of course their famous brownie for dessert.
But don’t assume that plant-based wedding food has to be informal. Ross & Ross Events have for a very long time offered beautifully curated and presented vegetarian menus, exquisitely plated for full effect. Stunning dishes include:
